Duncan Family Farms has been partnering with St. Mary’s Food Bank for well over a decade. Together, we are able to reduce food waste and get healthy produce to community members in need. For many years, Duncan Family Farms led a gleaning program to help harvest “imperfect” cabbage from West Valley farms that wouldn’t make the cut for typical retail quality specifications. Instead of leaving these heads in the field to be disked, Duncan Family Farms harvested and packaged them to be donated to St. Mary’s. Since then, we have consistently worked with the food bank to divert excess or less-than-perfect produce from the compost windrows and put them into the hands of those in need. In recent years, we have been able to donate much of our trial produce like watermelon, melon and squash to St. Mary’s. They are a fantastic partner and have a sophisticated, responsive supply chain that allows for us to quickly get perishables from the farm to the community.

At Sun Devil Hospitality, we are proud to partner with Duncan Family Farms to bring fresh, locally grown organic produce to the Arizona State University community. Their commitment to sustainable and responsible farming aligns perfectly with our mission to source locally and seasonally while reducing our environmental impact.
Through our partnership, Duncan Family Farms provides students and faculty with opportunities to sample their high-quality produce, educates the campus community about their farm and sustainable growing practices, and supports our sustainability events with enthusiasm. They participate in numerous pop-up and large-scale events, including Cakes and Cacti, Earth Month events, POD Market Sustainable Pop-Ups, and Farm to Fork meals, helping to connect students with the importance of local food systems.
Beyond providing fresh, organic produce, Duncan Family Farms exemplifies environmental stewardship through their on-farm composting program, water conservation techniques, and dedication to giving back to the community. Their commitment to regenerative agriculture and sustainability makes them a valued partner in our efforts to create a more sustainable and resilient food system. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and expanding our impact together

Duncan Family Farm has been one of the most valuable partners of St Mary’s Food Bank for over 20 years. Their support ranges from direct produce donations, gleaning of cabbage on their farms, to providing labor for cabbage gleaning on an adjacent farm (Everkrisp). In the past 15 years, Duncan Family Farms has donated ~6 million gleaned cabbages and other produce. These are the products that would have otherwise been wasted. Duncan Family Farms has also supported the gleaning of more than 3 million pounds of cabbage from Everkrisp Farms.
The support that Duncan Family Farms has been giving to St Mary’s Food Bank is highly appreciated.
